God save the Queen

This is painfully funny — at "life imitating 'Saturday Night Live'" levels:

I suppose we should be grateful that Obama didn't confront the Brits over their bizarre rudeness in interrupting his speech with that instrumental version of "My Country 'Tis of Thee."

Gutsy toast, though.

Right after Obama says "to the queen." Her Majesty says, "Set it down."

Oh, isn't this nice, they're playing another American song while I toast the queen.

What? It isn't "My Country, 'Tis of Thee" it's "God Save the Queen?"

Why'd they steal our song?

Dear Mr. Dyer: if the GOP doesn't use this in 2012 ads, they will be fools. Consider: a) The One is notoriously fond of the high life, all expenses paid b) he's been on such junkets before c) he has a knowledgeable protocol office at State to tell him what the procedure is d) he decides to ignore his experts and wing it with the usual results. Didn't even have the sense to shut up once the orchestra began playing.

What a dunce!

Sincerely yours,
Gregory Koster
