Obama's greatest achievement so far

I might have a hard time believing that Barack Obama saved America from defeat in Iraq (h/t InstaPundit), except that I have such vivid personal memories of him winning the first Gulf War, winning the Cold War and tearing down the Berlin Wall with his own strong hands, winning the first and second World Wars, winning the Spanish-American War, winning the American Civil War and freeing the slaves, winning the Revolutionary War, and writing the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. There is nothing he cannot do.

(Or at least, nothing good for which that festering sore masquerading as a presidential press secretary, Robert Gibbs, won't try to claim credit on Obama's behalf.)

Dear Mr. Dyer: Gibbs? Some things just have to be lived through. Or "livered" through, as I first misspelled it...

The One's greatest achievement? Discrediting liberalism for another generation, though the tuition the nation will have to pay for this lesson is, and will be, horrendous.

Sincerely yours,
Gregory Koster

May I add "redefining chutzpah" to his list of accomplishments (which could fit on his palm)?

I believe you forgot the War of 1812.

:P

I think not getting taken back as a colony is a win, given our military power at the time.

You're right, Adam (#3), and who could ever forget how —

In 1814, we took a little trip
Along with Barack Obama down the mighty Mississip'.
We took a little bacon and we took a little beans
And we caught the bloody British in the town of New Orleans.

Oh, He fired our guns and the British kept a-coming
There wasn't nigh as many as there was a while ago.
He fired once more, and they began to running,
On down the Mississippi to the Gulf of Mexico.

Mea culpa. But The One did permit the Brits to burn the White House, and his expedition to capture Canada failed rather badly. So overall, I don't think that performance was quite as impressive as when he stopped the rising of the oceans and healed the planet.

I also left out Korea — for who can forget how Obama practically won the 1952 presidential election when he declared to the nation, without his teleprompter: "Uh, I, uh, y'know, Michelle and me, uh, or, I—I—I shall, or at least I might, depending on circumstances and the most recent polls, go to, um, Korea! (And in case I get shot at by a sniper, I'm going to take along a Navy corpse-man.)" Mea culpa maxima.

Nor did I mention Vietnam. But we all still recall from the 2004 election campaign that John Kerry single-handedly won that war (before he was against it). All Obama did was break John McCain out of that North Vietnamese prison camp/resort spa, if I recall correctly.
