Biden warns us to "mark [his] words: It will not be six months before the world tests Barack Obama like they did John Kennedy."
Joe Biden — mere idiot, or idiot savant? I still incline toward the former view, but his dire warning from yesterday (at a fundraiser when he thought there were no recordings being made) is apt, and it's the subject of my latest guest-post at HughHewitt.com.

(Guest post by Bill Dyer a/k/a Beldar)
Hugh, below, and many others in the blogosphere (e.g., Tom Maguire and those he links), have thoughtful comments on Joe Biden's accidental truth-telling yesterday, when he dramatically predicted that America's enemies will quickly contrive crises to "test the mettle" of a young President Barack Obama.

I've only got two points to add, but they literally fill me with dread:
This grim prediction is Biden's own best-case scenario — that is, he thinks that Obama will make correct decisions in response to the crisis, but they will seem incorrect even to the Americans whose support Biden is now soliciting in advance. "[W]e're gonna need you to use your influence, your influence within the community, to stand with him. Because it's not gonna be apparent initially, it's not gonna be apparent that we're right." Translation: Obama's decisions are likely to be supportable only on the basis of blind faith.
As Scott Johnson pointed out: "In Portland on May 18, [2008,] Obama cited John F. Kennedy's [June] 1961 summit with Soviet premier Nikita Khrushchev in Vienna among the series of negotiations that led to America's triumph over the Soviet Union in the Cold War." Thus, despite his own Ivy League education and his having surrounded himself with supposed experts in foreign affairs, Obama has remained so ignorant of world history that he genuinely thought JFK's Vienna summit was a success. Instead, even Kennedy and his staff immediately realized that it had been a colossal failure. And history has shown that failed summit to have been a direct precursor and invitation to adventurous provocations which brought the world to the brink of nuclear war, including the Communists' erection of the Berlin Wall beginning in August 1961 and the Soviets' emplacement of nuclear missiles in the October 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis. (See also Matt Lewis' Townhall post today on this history.)
We all laugh, but we don't take it too seriously, when Obama mixes his metaphors to refer to himself as "green behind the ears." Sure, that's just a momentary bit of misspeaking, not much different from Biden declaring that "JOBS" is a three-letter word. Yet how can we hope along with Biden for a best-case scenario — when the would-be new president doesn't even know the most critical basic facts about the historical precedents for the challenges he is bound to face?

Yeah, that is the most complete Kinsley Gaffe I have seen in a while.

Sorry, I'm confused. Mr. Biden has a 20+ year track record of being completely wrong on foreign affairs and policy. However, THIS pronouncement, we believe?

The man who leaves no fingerprints actually Dubya's dad: George Herbert Walker Bush.
As to JFK, since we know the russians went into Cuba; invited there by Castro; what shouldn't be forgotten was the RAPE OF CUBA by America's Mafia. And, the green light it got! Until of course, Castro won. And, the light went RED.
Kennedy was killed.
So? How has this secret machinery really worked? When the fools in their swivel seats wanted war? We got battles we couldn't win. From Korea. To Vietnam. And, now?
Well, wouldn't the Saud's be responsible for funding 9/11? How did this bring about a "pass?" Seems "THE MAN WHO DOESN'T LEAVE FINGERPRINTS" has been up to his ying-yang in his son's administration. And, he dumps the "reputation" of being at the mercy of Cheney and Rumsfeld at his son's feet.
Perhaps, someday? People will ask. Gee, isn't the dad responsible for supplying his son, when he wins in 2000, with the men who didn't even ruffle one of George Herbert Walker Bush's feeathers?
Cheney and Rumseld. Definitely there, inside government. ALong with James Baker. It's almost as if they never left! (James Baker, remember, Reagan's Chief of Staff.) And, the elder-Bush? Was Reagan's veep. WHY?
Why can't we get rid of people using elections to change who captain's the ship?
Dunno.
But if we keep in place men who leave no fingerprints; then, yes. It's not the russians! It's the embedded stinkers in the CIA. State. And, even the Pentagon. Who bring ruin. And, who are never held accountable.
Want to know how Cuba was co-opted by Batista and the American Mafia? Read: HAVANA NOCTURNE.
We're finally getting books.
Just don't get bored. The stories they tell are very interesting. Indeed.
YOu don't "catch" men who leave no fingerprints. Instead? They get done in by unintended consquences.
FOr the Mob? They dropped bucketful's of money in Cuba. Castro erased their profits. And, he destroyed their hotels.
Pretty buildings.
Sort'a like temples to the imagination, gone to trash.
Will Obama change history?
Sure will speak to the world, if he wins. Because it means we've got a system in place that makes what you'd think is impossible, a Black man winning, real. They don't call this business "hope" without reason.
McCain? He's was co-opted early, by the Bush family. That's where all the players "who don't leave fingerprints" have gone. Well? Won't be slam-dunk.
While you think McCain can win; I think he does it without the women who were gonna vote for Hillary; and now are making choices for Obama. That this contest is about movement? Yup. On a grand scale.
But you can't win without getting more than half the voters on your side.
And, so far? Guess where the youth vote's going? Where you once had very poor showings. It's as if the youth decided, time and again, to stay home.
McCain hasn't pocketed the youth vote, either.
Zobgy? A republican pollster.
He's been wrong, before.
Polls are betting "safe" as far as I can tell. (But the insiders? The "men who leave no fingerprints?" They know more than they are saying.) At the end of the day? Dubya holds the bag. (Now, you tell me? What kind of a father does that to his son?)
John F. Kennedy, like Marilyn Monroe, had deaths that locked them into their youth. Doesn't change what we've learned so far.
As to the threat of a nuke; I've read that the Somalian piracy; of a ship from Iran. Paid for by the Chinese. Contained a dirty bomb that was supposed to explode ON YUM KIPPUR, out at sea. To kill Israelis. So far? It killed about 20 Somali pirates; who opened up the locked containers of "Chinese nuclear material."
Lots of ships at sea have surrounded the cargo. Why? So, that the ship doesn't float out. And, the one containing tanks, doesn't unload.
There are more secret operations afloat now, than you can count, Heracio.

Well, McCain has promised to reach across the aisle if elected. Maybe Joe is angling for a cabinet position? Secretary of Da Dunce.

We believe him because it is objectively true. The bad guys in the world will see Obama as a lightweight and then will probably manufacture a crisis to verify.
Carol
Castro kicking out the mafia is just one set of corrupt thugs kicking out another set. And i can assure you that the mafia never treated cuba as badly as castro did, if only because they weren't all up in all of your business, all of the time.
I always find it strange that liberals love to portray cuba as a paradice. But if you want to judge the quality of the country, look how many people literally die trying to escape, and look at how many people are clammoring to get back in.
And really, pretending McCain is a Bush clone? Give me a break.

I think it's clearly true that Obama will be tested if he becomes president. But I think the same is true of McCain. The enemy will want to know how he reacts, so they will try something. They may be more cautious with McCain than with Obama, but it won't be like with Reagan, where they were so afraid of testing him that they released the hostages immediately rather than face his wrath. (It wasn't until later that they realised he wasn't nearly as tough as he made himself out to be, and hundreds of marines paid the price.)
But this incident did serve to shed more light on the history of Planet Biden. Apparently over there JFK's foreign policy was successful. That would be the same planet on which FDR was president in 1929, the USA and France kicked Hezbollah out of Lebanon, and not only are Articles 1 and 2 of the constitution switched, but the new Article 1 gives the VP an executive role. And Katy's diner is doing a roaring trade.
