No, Beldar hasn't been kidnapped by the wingnuts ...
Much thanks to the many people who've posted comments or emailed me inquiring about my long lapse in posting. I'm flattered and frankly surprised by the interest.
Nothing's wrong. I've still been skimming the blogosphere and the MSM, of course. Since the election, I just frankly haven't had much to say on the big topics that I thought really would be of much interest to anyone, though, or that others weren't saying as well or better than I could.
And my clients — who got "just enough" attention during September and October — deserved some more intense and sustained focus since then from the crusty old grey-bearded lawyer they've hired. However, I had a goodly sized international commercial litigation case that settled in mediation on January 3rd, and a somewhat less huge but very time-intensive one that settled late last week. There are still hot irons in the professional fire that need to be rotated, adjusted, and sometimes whacked upside my opponents' heads (metaphorically), but I hope to have some time for more regular blogging soon.
In particular, I'm about halfway through reading Hugh Hewitt's latest book, Blog: Understanding the Information Reformation That's Changing Your World, and hope to have be in a position to write a nontrivial review within the next week or so.
So if you haven't deleted BeldarBlog from your bookmarks yet, you might hold off a bit longer. And again, to those who've noticed my lengthy recent silence, thanks again for your interest!

Well frankly.....I thought you'd had enough of the big city and moved back to Lamesa to do a little cotton farming! A good time to do so, Dawson County has had the best rains in years. :>]

Beldar, Baby! Yer Back!
I was getting a little worried there.... Glad to hear you're alive and not going the way of "The Daily Recycler" - especially with the great plugs Hugh gives you in his book!
Welcome back, you've been missed.

BRAVO! Just in time to annihilate Kerry's claim to Tim Russert to have delivered arms/ammo to the Communist Khmer Rouge (WTF???) in Cambodia as a Christmas present long before the Khmer Rouge thought about coming into being or figuring out what to do with themselves.

Glad you're doing well. But you've been missed.
Since the election, I just frankly haven't had much to say on the big topics that I thought really would be of much interest to anyone, though, or that others weren't saying as well or better than I could.
So don't blog about election topics. I've enjoyed your old lawyer's tales. It's interesting to hear how another profession works. I've tried to do this with my own blog, http://shallows.blogspot.com, but based on the number of TV shows about laywers versus the number of TV shows about astrophysicists, I'd guess that your profession is more interesting to more people.

I didn't know how much I would miss you until you were gone. If that sounds like some lovesick ex, too bad. If you take a hiatus in the future, please consider some short post just to let us know that you ARE alive and well.

In other words, Hewitt's mention of BeldarBlog shamed Beldar into writing again....
For those of you who entered late, Beldar also dropped off the face of the blogosphere for a month last year. As someone else pointed out, he needs to put off doing the work they pay him for so that he can cater to our every whim for opinion. After all, that's what bloggers are for!

Glad you're back, Beldar. I knew you'd said you needed to devote more attention to your day-job, but good lord, man! There's a limit!
Welcome back.

Have been doing the Mah-hi-hii song while waiting you out, and my arms are really sore. Pain and suffering is intense.
Worse, I now sing soprano, and I used to be a baritone!
What legal principles should I cite in my upcoming lawsuit?
