Funniest line I've read tonight

From NRO's The Corner:

ISN'T THIS FANTASTIC?! [John Podhoretz]

The media won't call it, even though it's happened. They're graceless. So is Kerry. They are tying themselves to this depressing loser. It's everything I ever wanted.

I so agree. In my view, a Kerry legal challenge in the face of a 3.7+ million popular vote majority for Bush just extends the parade the Vietnam veterans never had. Kerry hung them out to dry; now they get to watch him twist and squirm under torture.

Media Mules and Kerry Refuse to Concede a Bush Win

It was predictable for Kerry and his media supporters to demonstrate this lack of respect for the American people, our election process and the entire democratic system in general. In light of their pattern of contempt for fair play, why at this late hour, would these would be despots suddenly develop any sense of personal dignity, ethical standards or honor? Kerry revealed his unethical character from the start of his career and his nature remains essentially unchanged at the present. Consider again that from his political debut until the present, Kerry sneered at the US government and its military forces and demonstrated his low regard for voter intelligence and perceptions. Kerry’s lengthy and successful manipulation of the voting public, the media and the government resulted in the reinforcement of his narcissistic self-regard to the degree that he appears incapable of abiding by any rules that do not give him control.

Beldar,

Don't underestimate these people. Obviously they are holding up closing NM and IA - likely adding votes there while the press obliges. Not sure what today will bring. I agree that the majority of people will want this over - today. But don't underestimate what these people can and will do.

I'm with Podhoretz, the longer Lurch keeps it going, the more ridiculous the Dems will look. It was too rich last night flipping from Rather to Brokaw to NPR and seeing the Lefty stooges with their crushed faces. I think that another week or 10 days of lawyering by Kerry will be too much fun.

The Nam is finally over. The slug who slimed us all is now being reduced to the shameful irrelevance he so ruchly deserves. Jean Fraud can't even be a man as we speak.

God bless the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth. They finally won their strategic victory.

One interesting aspect of this was on network tv in the analysis of exit polls they couldn't understand and debated at length "MORAL VALUES".
That might give them a clue why they lost! But I doubt it.
Thanks Beldar you have given us all a clue!

I tend to believe that this protracted episode has done little to heal the wounds of most Vietnam veterans and to give them closure. Many may look to the conflict in Iraq as a final chapter to the war they could not finish.

During this campaign, I spoke several times with my younger brother, who enlisted when faced with the draft, and further, went back for a second tour--on the ground, up close and personal. He was well decorated, including the Purple Heart. I was rejected for service and didn't go. Only his fellow veterans will ever fully appreciate his experience.

He had never heard of John Kerry until the primaries started, let alone been aware of Kerry's anti-war activities. He has told me that ultimately for him and many of those who served with him, there was little outrage over the protesters' activities, and some hope that they might in some way help to end the war and get them out of a deteriorating situation.

For him, it was far and away a failure of leadership.
