Birth
I'm watching Nicole Kidman on "The Charlie Rose Show" promoting her upcoming new movie, Birth. I'm fairly infatuated with her anyway, and the movie looks like lotsa fun (although there's apparently a very controversial bath scene). Plus the movie has Lauren Bacall — I adore her. Seeing Ms. Kidman in the movie clips with short, short hair is kind of shocking, but she's still hot. And oooooh — I love hearing her responding to Charlie's questions in her native Australian accent (which she so effectively suppresses in her movies to be "in character," but which I find absolutely compelling).

William, William, William. After deliciously deconstructing the O'Reilly settlement, you disappoint by claiming to be infatuated with Kidman. She's "To Die For," right? That was her best film because she was playing herself. After all, anyone who could marry Tom Cruise must be shallow.

I, too, have had something of an infatuation with Nicole Kidman. However, I've been trying to fight it since I found out she contributed to Hillary.
These days I'm restricting my interests to those with the right political perspective. Ms. Kidman is fetching, but I'd be retching if I actually had to spend time with someone who backs any Clinton or Kerry.

Her best film, and in fact the only film I can watch her in is "Dead Calm".

Controversial? I don't think that quite captures it. We're talking about a scene in which she appears nude in the bath with a 10 year-old boy (the premise of the film is that her dead husband was reincarnated and remembers who he was). All I can say is that better words than controversial for this include:
- sick
- creepy
- pedophilia
- wrong
- and many more
I'm not dissing your crush on Kidman...we all have our crosses to bear...but enthusing that "the movie looks like lotsa fun" given it's subject matter...meh, doesn't look that fun to me. Looks more like yet another Hollywood attempt at normalizing deviance.
