More details from the SwiftVets

The Swifties Fire Back is the new post up on Captain's Quarters.  In it, Ed Morrissey (a/k/a Captain Ed) reprints a lengthy, extremely detailed letter from John O'Neill, speaking on behalf of the SwiftVets organization, in response to the threat letter written jointly by lawyers for Kerry-Edwards 2004 and the DNC in an attempt to dissuade media outlets from airing the SwiftVets' video.  It's powerful stuff.  Read the whole thing.

If anyone knows where I could access a .pdf scan of this letter โ€” and especially the referenced exhibits โ€” I'd be grateful for a link, via comments or email.

Update (Mon Aug 9 @ 7:40am):  The SwiftVets' own website now also reprints the letter, but unfortunately, not yet the referenced exhibits.

I think your ads are disgraceful, just as I thought Kerry's ads about Bush's war service were disgraceful. where is your respect. You purport yourself as supportive of the military, but I disagree. No matter what political affiliation you support, your support of the country is much more important- shame on you for degrading anyone's military service.

These swiftvets will eat their own for the sake of politics. I was undecided, but now I will vote Kerry. I am a vet, and I find this issue repulsive. Get over Vietnam, and stop acting like little boys.

This isn't about Viet Nam, it's about the character of a presidential candidate. If records and recollections from the Viet Nam action shed light on that character, then the voters deserve to see and hear and make up their own minds.

Best, wes
